Welcome to MICATA The Mid-America Chapter of the American Translators Association
What does MICATA do? We are a professional association of translators and interpreters in the United States of America Midwest and a local chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA). The ATA is a professional association founded to advance the translation and interpreting professions and foster the professional development of translators and interpreters. Its 10,000 members in more than 90 countries include translators, interpreters, language services providers, educators, project managers, web and software developers, hospitals, universities, and government agencies.
Who are MICATA's members? Our members are translators, interpreters and language professionals who live in the American Midwest and throughout the world. There are also others who have and interest in this area and who want to keep in touch with translation and interpreting activities in this region.
When do MICATAn's meet? We meet periodically throughout the year. Here's a sample of yearly activities beginning in September.
Where do MICATAn's meet? MICATA does not have an office, and all of our officers and directors are volunteers. We meet in members' homes or public places like civic centers, business offices, hotel meeting rooms or library meeting rooms.
