New E-Mail Newsbriefs

The MICATA Board of Directors has been working on improving communication with and among MICATA members by reviving the MICATA Monitor, improving our website and sending out this periodic E-Mail Newsbriefs.

The E-Mail Newsbriefs will be a quarterly e-mail sent to all MICATA members to keep you up to date on MICATA events and meetings and other items of interest to translators and interpreters.  Some of the events planned in the next few months include:

1. Elections

2. Fora Linguarum

3. All Member Luncheon and New Officers & Board of Directors Installation

4. ATA Annual Conference

When you receive the e-mail, you can click through to get the entire article, and the link will also take you to MICATA's new website.

MICATA's new website has been loaded at our former web address which is:

www.ata-micata.org

The MICATA Board of Directors has also asked one of our members, Kelly Moore, to create the reinvigorated MICATA Monitor to keep our members informed about MICATA and the ATA.

We welcome participation by all MICATAns.  You can write an article that you think will be of interest to fellow MICATA members, or you can let us know of other news or events that have some relationship to translation or interpreting.  Please submit your article or news to Kelly directly at k17moore@sbcglobal.net and she will take care of it.  You can always find that e-mail address again in the Contact Us section of the website.

Please also feel free to send us your thoughts and suggestions, and we will incorporate them as best we can.  You can contact us at micata@gmail.com.  Just remember that we are all volunteers and hard working translators and interpreters like you, so please be patient.

We are working with a website developer at Kansas State University to improve our web pages, so look for more in the near future.
